East Midlands Demolition Limited - Clearing the way for the future

Investment Pays Off for East Midlands Demolition

East Midlands Demolition has just invested half a million pounds in plant machinery, cementing its place as one of the heavy hitters of the East Midlands demolition industry. The company has spent the majority of its half million pound investment on new plant attachments, including four Volvo excavators and two dust sweepers.

The new plant machinery comprises a 50 tonne Volvo Excavator; two 24 tonne Volvo excavators; a 20 tonne Volvo excavator; and the two dust sweepers, which are used to help the dust suppression units in keeping a demolition site clean and free from potentially hazardous dust. A range of super efficient attachments have been purchased for the excavators.

East Midlands Demolition adds the new machinery to an existing fleet of self owned multi purpose vehicles. In addition to its normal range of site excavators, East Midlands Demolition runs a line-up that includes bulldozers; loading shovels; industrial crushers capable of creating 6F2 recycled material; and a Pegson Impactor, which allows the company to deliver its trailblazing concrete recycling service. The Pegson, which is widely used in Germany to create recycled concrete from existing crushed site material, has been taken up by East Midlands Demolition to provide the same service for its clients.

East Midlands Demolition undertakes to provide all recycled materials from its demolition work to the contractors owning the land — which means all jobs completed by EMD are as cost effective as they are environmentally sound. Current demolition projects for the company include the timely removal of the Mackworth campus of Derby College, which is creating 40,000 tonnes worth of recycled concrete for use by Persimmon Homes, the project buyer.

The new Volvo plant machinery purchased by East Midlands Demolition adds another environmentally friendly string to the company bow. All four new Volvo excavators have proven industry leading fuel efficiency, and take advantage of Volvo V–ACT plant engine technology to lift more tonnes per hour than older machines. There's speed in the attachment changes too — making EMD's overall investment one in increased productivity as well as overall company expansion. Lead free exterior paint, low engine emission levels and a greatly reduced noise output ensure that the environmental consideration of the company's increased work capacity is maintained even in the small details.

Dust sweepers are vital for a safe and clean demolition: East Midlands Demolition's two new dust sweepers will speed up the process, ensuring new levels of reliability and greater area cover. With the new dust sweepers and excavators working in tandem the company will be able to deliver a wider range of services to even more clients — part of a well thought out expansion plan that also includes the creation of a new purpose built office and depot facility.

East Midlands Demolition's investment in new plant machinery cements its position as the name to conjure with for safe, clean and speedy demolition projects in the East Midlands area. Having already secured three million pounds' worth of new demolition contracts for completion in the next six months, the company is looking forward to putting the new excavators and dust sweepers through their paces.
