East Midlands Demolition has taken the next step in a considered expansion policy by recruiting a talented team of six new staff members. The staff members represent the human factor in a continued programme of growth and improvement, which has already seen the foundations cut for a specifically designed new office and plant storage facility; and a significant collection of project contracts for completion over the next six months.
Those projects will bring in just over three million pounds — a clear return on an investment in practices, policies, equipment and people. East Midlands Demolition is intent on heading for the top, and its multi pronged manoeuvre looks like getting it there in style.
As well as hiring six new team members, EMD has invested in an intensive training programme to ensure that it stays ahead of the pack in terms of efficiency, knowledge and new techniques. The company is no stranger to innovation, of course — having introduced the Pegson impactor to the demolition industry in the area already, East Midlands Demolition is simply carrying on its own tradition of enterprise and forward motion.
To back up the increased quotient of staff on the payroll, EMD has purchased 3 transit crew buses. The buses are there to ferry crew members to and from demolition jobs — a move that both improves the working conditions of the crew and ramps up the efficiency of each job. It's another environmental coup, too — with a single vehicle transporting whole teams to their assigned demolition sites, East Midlands Demolition is able to keep an eye on its carbon footprint even before the bulldozers are switched on.
The attention to detail doesn't stop there, either. EMD has introduced a suite of welfare facilities to make the life of a company crew member even easier. All staff now have access to a drying room and state of the art kitchen facilities — both of which are powered by a self contained generator.
This commitment to staff comfort is typical of the East Midlands Demolition ethos — that investment makes the best sense even in a world still hamstrung by the after effects of the economic downturn. With its investment in people; its investment in new plant machinery; and its investment in new premises; the company is carving a path to an expanded future — where its stated aim, to clear the way for improved installations, new business initiatives and improved services across the East Midlands looks likely to become reality.
The company's investment in expanding its workforce; in committing to an ongoing training programme designed to instil excellence as standard across everything it does; and in delivering high quality, environmentally friendly working conditions for all its staff, is the mark of an outfit that means business. East Midlands Demolition is building more than just an enlarged workforce — it's building a whole new way of providing demolition services to the area. EMD is bigger, better, faster and stronger — and clearing the way for the future with greater efficiency than ever.
