East Midlands Demolition Limited is totally committed to undertaking our business in a manner commensurate with our belief that our activities should not adversely effect the environment and, wherever possible, seek to create a positive impact.

We recognise that all operations must be undertaken with Environmental considerations as an integral part of the process and not as a separate isolated issue.

We intend, whenever possible to make continual progress in our environmental performance and to reduce our environmental impact whilst maintaining the Company's economic viability through the following: -

  1. The Company will keep itself informed of all legislation, regulations and Codes of Practice on environmental matters that are relevant to its operations; make best endeavours to ensure that its personnel are aware of and adequately instructed in the requirements of this legislation etc.; and take all other reasonable actions to ensure compliance.
  2. Whilst construction is in progress, the Company will take reasonable precautions, which are consistent with its client's instructions, against environmental damage, disruption or nuisance on or adjoining its sites. It will at all times endeavour to keep its sites clean and tidy, and also any adjoining areas that may be affected by traffic to and from those sites, and to avoid pollution of the air, ground or water by noise, fumes, dust or the disposal of construction materials.
  3. The Company will make every effort to conserve the use of materials and of energy and, where viable and consistent with its client's instructions, collect waste materials for recycling.
  4. The Company will appoint the Divisional Managers to supervise implementation and further development of its environmental policy.
  5. The Company will prepare instructions for the implementation of its environmental policy on individual sites, and will for each site nominate a competent person to supervise compliance with these instructions.
  6. Any environmental problems encountered in carrying out the works according to the client's instructions will be brought to the attention of the client, and of any competent authority, with view to finding a satisfactory solution.

The efforts to reduce the environmental impact resulting from the service we offer is an ongoing process. We treat all environmental issues very seriously and always act responsibly in our role as contractors. Environmental issues sit equally alongside Health and Safety and Quality and will always form a major part of our site inductions. We have identified that a continual improvement in our environmental performance will be one of our key objectives over the next few years.

It is our intention to continually improve our environmental performance and work closely with our Clients in order to achieve this.

This policy is communicated to all employees and is publicly available to all interested parties upon request.
