A fresh start at London Road... East Midlands Demolition has completed a project for Derby Homes at London Road in Derby. After demolition and clearance of the exisitng site, East Midlands Demolition carried out all external works and hard standings. The end result will provide a fresh start for the site's new tenants.

Work starts to demolish Bardon Hill Millhouse...
East Midlands Demolition has began work to demolish the Millhouse at Bardon Hill in Leicestershire. The mill, built in 1857, housed the worlds oldest surviving Blake type double toggle crusher. Clients, Aggregate Industries are now making plans to display this in their in-house museum. East Midlands Demolition have been busy with the amount of architectural reclamation this site requires, with both brick and structural feature cast iron needing specialist care and attention.

The start of the New Year sees the end of the demolition project for Roxhill Developments in Basildon. The site is now entering the final stages of clearance.

Demolition Industry Breakfast Meeting - 28 November 2012
East Midlands Demolition Ltd held a breakfast meeting on the 28 November 2012 at the University of Derby Enterprise Centre. An industry update was given by Howard Button, the Chief Executive of the NFDC and Steve Sadley the Chief Executive of ARCA gave an overview of the latest Asbestos legislation changes. The event had a good response and was attended by people from a wide range of industries.

Grand opening of new offices...
As members of the NFDC, we invited The Chief Executive of the NFDC, Howard Button to officially open the new East Midlands Demoliton offices in November.

Offices of First Data see their last days...
The former offices of finance firm First Data in Basildon have seen their last days. Work recently commenced to demolish the site and ready it for an exciting new proposed retail and commercial development.

A tale of two bridges...
East Midlands Demolition have recently dismantled two bridges in Leicestershire for GF Tomlinson. The first was a narrow road bridge in Loughborough, the bridge was taken down to make way for a new and improved replacement. The second was a weak footbridge over the River Wreake near Syston. This was a first for East Midlands Demolition as we've not worked over water before and we welcomed the new experience.

Demolition Industry Breakfast Meeting - 28 November 2012
East Midlands Demolition will be hosting a breakfast meeting from 08.30 on 28 November at The University of Derby Enterprise Centre. Howard Button, Chief Executive of the NFDC will be giving an industry update and Steve Sadley, Cheif Executive of ARCA will be speaking about the new asbestos legislation changes. The venue is a fitting one as East Midlands Demolition broke ground for the University's Enterprise Centre back in 2009 and it's now gone on to become one of the region's premier meeting and training venues. The final building comes down at Mackworth College...
East Midlands Demolition have taken down the last standing building of the old Mackworth College in Derby this month. The site will now be cleared ready for the new Persimmon Homes Development.

The EC460 goes out for a short trip...
When our Volvo EC460 goes out, it's always a big occasion no matter how short the trip! The mammoth excavator was only going up the road to a job for Derby College at Mackworth but manouvering out of the yard always takes a specialist level of skill and patience. East Midlands Demolition is assisting with the last phase of demolition at the new Persimmon Homes site.
