Clipstone Colliery Helping the Environment - East Midlands Demolition   Clipstone Colliery Project Still Helping the Environment

East Midlands Demolition's award winning Clipstone Colliery project paid dividends for the local environment. The site is still accepting ex coal inert waste, which would otherwise have been destined for landfill areas in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

The original Clipstone Colliery demolition project salvaged an astonishing 96% of all materials turned up during work. As well as conducting a safe and environmentally conscious demolition of a huge site, which presented asbestos and slurry as well as the normal structural materials (copper; concrete; steel; iron), East Midlands Demolition then prepared the ground for future use, using infilling and levelling techniques to restore the Colliery site to its original tillable field condition.

EMD has long made a practice of incorporating large scale recycling into its work and has spearheaded its own expansion project with the purchase of £500,000 worth of environmentally friendly equipment.
